Default shaved Heads / new gasket

in the shop now.. not sure what to expect after I get it back. I just dropped 1,500 to do this and feel like i cant sell the car now since I could only get about 3K out of it. I am going to keep it and drive it for another year or two..

edit: car got hot and cracked the intake manifold near the thermostat housing. bought and installed a new manifold with metal housing. The heat also warped the heads.

I haven't had my car all month. Ive been driving a cobalt 4 door. I feel depressed.

Hope you're not milling the heads too much. Milling them too much creates slack in the timing chains. It's not like a pushrod motor where the chain is all on the block.

I would imagine that it would take a very large amount to be cut of that the chain tensioners would be maxed out, did this really ever happen to anyone?

I agree. There is a lot of room left for extension on the tensioners with everything stock I can see it affecting the cam timing a couple degrees though

could be worse, you coulda snapped a piston rod and require a whole new block and heads. i'm down my mustang, and having to drive the wifes 09 lancer ES... and when we have conflicting schedules she has to drop me off... quite sucky. i havent had my car since just before thanksgiving, and i wont have it again until late feb earliest.
oh and im in just under 5k into my car lol. and i still gotta get all the gaskets, a flywheel and clutch.
