Default Focus SVT Fuel Pump

I know this looks like an un-searched thread, but I can't seem to find any answers. My fuel pressure is only reading 28-29 pounds at the schrader valve, so I'm thinking my fuel pump is tired and worn out. Looking in my Haynes manual it says that its supposed to read anywhere between 40-70 at idle. All the things I can find on a fuel pump here tells me to go with a Focus SVT pump, but when I try to research one, it brings me to an Airtex E2386, which is Walbro made pump. I work at autozone and can easily get one of these, but the flow and pressure numbers of it are less than that of a stock GT pump. Which pump are all of you guys going with? Are you going to a dealership and getting one from ford? Or are you getting one from you local parts store? I know O'Rielly's carries Airtex pumps too, I also opened one up a 2386 at work and it had Walbro stamped on the side of the pump itself. Any help would be appreciated.

Motorcraft makes the real SVT pump you are looking for. Here is a picture of the label. This is the sump+pump combo. Hope this helps.

the pump will fit into the original sump assembly. I cant remember how much I paid for the sump+pump; might of been ~$200. You can find the pumps for about $100 by themselves on ebay. That's where I got mine.

*Edit*

check these out.

thank you guys for all the help. I wonder who makes those specific pumps? I didn't see anything about a warranty which would be the only bad thing.

you should be fine with the above pump. look like a genuine product.
i wouldnt expect a warranty.
what are your goals/mods? is there a problem with the pump thats causing the pressure to be low or could it be the fuel filter?

zero2005, my goals are nearly the same as yours are, someday I want to go with a MMR 600 and an on3 turbo kit, nothing radical, just relatively safe and fun. I've got only minor bolt-ons (exhaust, CAI, 3:73's, spec clutch and some little stuff). As long as my stock motor is running, i'll keep it, but when it goes I'll be like everyone else and go with something nice. And i replaced my fuel filter about 500 miles ago, so i'm hoping its not that. I guess it'd be a good idea to replace that again before I go and spend 120 on a new pump. The original owner ran nitrous and I'm thinking he may have just tapped out the original pump.

well, if you plan on going big, dump the returnless system, and go sumped tank with dual 255 return-style pumps.

a single SVT pump is good for 400-450, with a KB BAP, you might get a bit more. then your looking at a dual returnless setup like a cobra tank which is a bit expensive, or somehow rigging up the stock tank and having to worry about fuel below 1/4 tank.

SVT pump should be fine for now... but with an on3 kit and even a stock block i'd say at least get a BAP on top. if you just replaced the filter it should be fine.

edit: you'll want to dump the 3.73's with a turbo too. lol unless you like frying tires for no reason.
