Default Belt sits funny on SC pulley

Hey all,

I noticed that my Vortech head unit looks like it is slightly angled and the belt is about 1/8th to 1/4 in. off the pulley. It seems to be fine on the other pullies, but I was curious if it should ride centered or if this is normal on the SC pullies. Has anyone had this issue and did you shim the head unit to get it perp to the engine? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

It sounds like the belt is jumping ribs because of the angle of the supercharger, this is not normal and the belt should right on the pulley like any other accessory. You may have to shim the mounting bracket so the blower sits proper, you can probably do it with a few washers I have meet alot of people at car shows and what not that have had the same problem and the washers did the trick.

Hey thanks, I was thinking shimming was probably needed, but wanted to verify others have had to do this. The pulley is not ribbed, but the belt should still be centered, thanks again.

If you are asking because of my not ribbed comment, I realised my mistake, it is a 6 rib pulley, I confused it with another in my head when I wrote that. Thank you though.
