Default Do "bolt-ons" really work?

Ok, I know that a supercharger is a bolt-on device and I know that a supercharger makes a big, big, difference but I'm talking about the usual exhaust and intake stuff. You know, headers, cat-back, x-pipe, cold air intake, does that stuff really make a big difference? Because I have almost enough money to get a supercharger but if I purchase one then I won't be able to do anything else for a long time. I know that I have posted here before and I got some good responses from some of you. I can see by the list of everybody's modifications that most people go with the bolt on stuff. I guess I can assume that there's something to it but I just want to be sure. Please let me know what ya'll think.

In my oppinon..do a full exhaust first, before a supercharger..doing a full exhaust REALLY wakes your car up..you can really hear and fell the difference...then throw a set of gears in there..make 3:73's the lowest you go (I'd suggest 4:10's)..once you do full exhaust (longtube headers) and gears...start saving up for your supercharger then if you still want it..just my oppinion

You have to keep in mind that there is also a lot of preparation for a supercharger, if you do it right. I just can't see how some people take a stock GT and toss in a blower and run 350+HP at the wheels with everything else just stock. It's just plane stupid.

I/H/E, TB/P, Gears (technically not a bolt on though) do make a difference. Ask JDaniel about bolt ons, he had a damn quick bolt on 02 (was it an 02?) GT.

Thanks man. I can see by your list of mods that you have done a lot but still no supercharger. I feel like if you wanted one though you would have done that already. So I guess it's safe to assume that you really have a fast car? How quick can you get from 0-60? How about a quarter mile? Just wondering.

I'm new to the game of fast cars. What does I/H/E and TB/P mean?

That's what I was thinking, but headers is part of exhaust so I didn't say anything.

Sounds right to me? Anyway, you need to prep your car before you supercharge it. Put on a full exhuast and some gears and then you can supercharge no problem.
