hi guys, so i got my predator today and tried to installed it right away but i keeps giving me this error mssg “ your original backup was NOT SAVED i search on the web looking for some info all i found as possible causes was aftermarket devices and i disconnected all of them but still cant install it.
help plz!!

How far in the installation process can you get before receiving that message--it indicates that the OEM tune has not yet been read by the tuner, have you done that? It should download and backup the stock tune automatically the first time you connect it to your OBD2 port and turn the key on...

well as fas as i can tell it doesnt download or upload anything
i choose the tuner i like, then a screen saying that my original tune is now going to be saved apears but after that when it tells me to turn the key on another screen pops up saying that the saving proses has failed and it asks me if i turned the engine on but i don i dont turn the engine on i just turn the switch to the on position, ive been trying to install it since yesterday and im getting frustrated already lol

What model number is it?
You need model U7146 to work with your car.
The other possibilities are that your car already has a custom tune (the Predator may be smart enough to realise this), or that the unit was not divorced from another car-- however I believe the Predator will show a "no license" message when that happens.
Also make sure there's no daughter-board "chip" plugged into the PCM--if there is it will be plugged in to the J3 connector at the bottom edge of the PCM.

thats what i got the U7146 and the car has never been tuned before it was bone stock when i got it 5 yrs ago,
so if the unit is still merried to another car i should get a “no license” mssg? bcuz i havent seen that mssg on the screen

The daughter board "chip" is another way of tuning the car, some hold as many as 8 tunes and the tunes can be switch in an out as you drive.
