Default SCT with BAMA tune

Just got my SCT in the mail yesterday and was going to use the 93 race tune today. Does anyone daily drive with the race tune? I just want to make sure I am not going to hurt my car any by daily driving. Thanks!

Nice dude. Glad it worked out for you. I am hoping I notice a nice gain. Do you have a auto or 5 speed?

It's fun. I drive with it everyday. Caution though, the throttle is a bit more responsive.

It's not bad at all once you get used to it.

I am kinda worried about the added pressure for shifts. Since I have a shift kit already. Are the free tunes free or are they only free if you buy the mod from AM? I have headers that I haven't put on yet and was thinking about getting them put on later this month. Would I get new tunes from them for free or do I have to buy headers from them?

from what i understood on AM website, they set the race tune to give the car maximum power after 3k RPM. the street tune is designed to give you mid range power for daily driving. but ive driven with the race tune on my car as well without any potential harm. pretty fun stuff when the sensitive throttle catches you by surprise and you end up drifting around a corner!

I would be careful about the tunes, especially the race one since you will have the added shift pressure on top of the shift kit if you didn't tell them you had one.

If you have a shift kit, let us know so that we can modify the pressures, like noted above.

To answer the question, though... we've got plenty of people running the Race tune on a daily basis (myself included). I've actually gotten so used to it that anything less feels... bleh.
