Default Difference in brand names for misc. parts

Okay so I am looking into multiple different upgrades for my 98 Mustang GT. There are a couple different things I want, however I just dont know much about the specifics in each category, I am mostly concerned with the brand names and what to look for.

The first is Short-throw shifters. I am very interested in one, but I want a good one. One that shifts smooth and feels great. I was looking at the Ford Racing Short throw shifter, however the Pro 5.0 looks good too. Which will be the best for me?

Next is The underdrive pulleys. There is Granatelli, BBK, Steeda, etc. I dont know which is a good set to get. So which one would be recommended? What would be the best for a decent price?

Third there is Throttle Bodys, what is the difference between 75mm and 70mm and what would be recommended?

I am also looking for a new gear ratio. I have already decided to get a 4.10 or a 4.30, What is a good brand to get? I am once again looking at Ford Racing, but that may not be the best.

Thanks,
DMD

I hear the Pro 5.0 is good. I'm happy with my Steeda Tri-Ax. IMO definitely do the Steeda UDP's over the others. I'd also do a 75 mm tb/plenum cause it will give you room to grow. I went with Accufab. Ford Racing is your best bet when it comes to the gears.

Okay I will for sure go with the Ford Racing gears, the steeda UDPs and the Accufab 75mm TB and Plenium. The short throw it's still between pro 5.0 and ford racing.

Oh and my clutch is totally shot, what is the best clutch kit I can get for a decent/lower price?

Thanks for the help!

If you are literally looking for "smooth" shifting stick (no pun intended) with the stock shifter, any after market short throw shifter will be inherently "notchier" and require more effort to shift--how much depends on how much shorter the throw is.

However if what you seek is more precise shifting then any of the OEM look-a-like after market shifters will be OK, if you are seeking the most precise shifting there is the MGW shifter is the only way to go.

Read more about this here...

Ahh, well by smooth I guess I mean I want it to actually shift haha, mine is just terrible.

I have used a peo 5.0 before and I liked it, I just dont know what the difference is between the FRPP and thew Pro 50, like quality and stuff
