Default Do I need Spring Isolators with Lowering Springs?

I am looking to buy either the Eibach Pro-Kit or the Steeda Sport Springs for a 2002 GT Convertible.
Most places also offer/suggest that I get Polyurethane Spring Isolators (donuts). What are they supposed to do and are they necessary?
Any comments appreciated before I make my purchase.
Who's got the best price on springs?
Thanks.

I have the pro-kit in my car. I used the stock spring isolators, I just took them off the stock springs. I believe they are there to prevent squeeking everytime your suspension moves. I think its worth the centimeter to avoid the annoying squeeking.

I would not buy em, as you can definitely re-use your stock isolators (I have an 2002 also and was able to reuse mine). If for some odd reason yours are all torn to ****, I still would not pay the $30+ for new ones – just head to your local auto parts store and buy a foot or so of 1” radiator hose and cut it into 4 equal sections (about 4" long each) and slide it over your springs. (Problem solved for less than five bones).

it depends on your mileage, but with an 02 you should be fine with the stock ones.

Thank you guys! My car is in pretty good shape, with less than 30K miles, so I'll likely be able to use the originals.
Time to order.

Good luck - install is a breeze! Don’t forget that it will probably take up to a week for your springs to fully settle, so don’t fret if there doesn’t appear to be a difference immediately after slapping em on….
