Default CC plates and sturt removed

So I undid my stock cc plates and I let the strut tower drop with a jack under the a arm. I put it back together and tightened up the bolts. Now, do I need an alignment?

I didn't put in any new springs or anything like that. I just undid the bolts to see how the suspension on this car works.

What do you mean by "undoing" your CC plates? Did you just remove the upper strut nut?

might be a good idea to get the alignment checked. next time, just remove the strut nut instead of the cc bolts

So what are the chances of it being off? Can I drive it for like 200 miles w/o an alignment?Where is the strut nut?

if it was the factory C/C plates there should have been a pop rivet in them it that is still there the plates probably did not move

This ^^^

After recently installing new CC plates and seeing how crappy the stock plates were I would highly recommend new ones.

I read that better cc plates are needed when you lower your car,but if you don`t lower your car and want better cc plates with new struts will the cc plates still be a good idea?

The stock plates were designed to meet two goals:
  • minimise NVH at the expense of precise control;
  • be cheap to manufacture;

They meet both criteria nicely, so if you want something of higher build quality and offering more precise handling (at the expense of more noise, vibration and harshness) then get a set of quality after market 4-bolt plates.

I have Steeda's and am very pleased with them, most of the 4-bolt sets are very good...
