abs dash light!
if i were to take the abs bulb out of the gauge pod would that cut power off to other bulbs?
do the bulbs run off a curcuit or are they independent of one another?
i swaped my engine out for a different generation motor and my abs system light turned on i was told to pop the bulb, i just took it out completely should i actually pop the bulb and plug it back in or just keep it out as i did..

my car is a 97 i swapped in a 02 engine so the abs systems aren't alike.. since the computer and all electronics were swapped and i left the old brake system my abs is shut down..
so the light turned on instead of putting in like 2000 dollars just to upgrade...

ABS and traction control are similar in that they were specifically designed to accommodate driver's that don't know how to control braking or acceleration. If you know how to perform a panic stop without locking up the wheels you don't need ABS, and as most of us here know traction control is just an annoyance.
I've only had ABS on a couple cars (and I lived in New England for 45 years so I know about snow and ice), and the only time it ever kicked in was once when I got a new Mercedes E300 and took it to a mall parking lot on a snowy Sunday morning to see what it did.
Drive defensively, don't tailgate, anticipate what is unfolding in front of you, and learn how to stop without locking up the brakes; and you'll never need ABS...
