Default New tranny What kind?

So i pulled my tranny tonght and noticed the case was cracked and also when i pulled plug to drain fluid chunks of metal fell out so im pretty sure its toast. My question is what should i put back in? Just a rebuilt T3650 which was in there or something different.

I would like to put a better trans in but not sure what all would entail in doing so

Thanks

Well if you have a T3650 in there now you can put in another one or buy a built one. It you keep the same trans it is just a matter of dropping your current trans and putting in the new one.

If you found metal shavings in the fluid I wouldn't bother putting it back in.

I dont see it on their site yet, but supposedly gforce transmissions has put out a 3650 that will hold up to 1000hp. Someone else also offers a 600hp version i believe, it might be promotion. If your looking for the easiest way to put in a trans to hold more power i would look into these options.

i found this rebuilt tranny on smartpartsauto.com for 1100. I like the price but im not sure because of how much lower it is than every other web site i have looked at. Does anyone know if they are a reputable web site and would the tranny be of good quality?

Heres the web site-http://www.smartpartsauto.com/manual...0_mustang.html

Thanks

If you can afford it, got with a rebuilt T56 and convert it. I believe you can do it for under $1200 through a resaler on Egay.

lizzyfan i read that link and its great but doesent say anything about if my old clutch for the t3650 will work or not. sxynerd said i would need new clutch but that thread never said anything about it. Also wondering if the cobra bellhousing bolts right up?

i have a AODE for a 94-98 4.6 and a 2000 4.6 witch will fit a 99-04 both built by wolford trans. the 2000 stall will go with $1,300. I was going to convert my t56 over and had some trouble with the pats system. The dealers around here have not a clue. if interested call 270 7341964 Eric
