where's the speedo gear

Default where's the speedo gear

hey guys, just got some 410's installed on the stang. now my speedometer is way off. anybody know where the speedo gear is located? thanks

There isn't one. You need to buy a handheld tuner, or a speedometer aduster (both plug into the computer service port, I can't think of it's exact name right now, which is on the driver's side under the steering wheel somewhere, it's on the left side of the center console for my 04 GT).

r u sure? i thought the 94-98 stangs had the little gear. but anyway tell me more about the speedometer adjuster. how much is it?

THIS should be what you need if you don't want to do the predator. I would call and confirm that this would fit before ordering though.

when i got my 3.73's i got a Steeda speedo gear, i had them installed so i dont know where they put it. i was wondering though. i figure the speedo gear is a lot cheeper $8 or something around there Vs $400

The gear should be towards the rear of the tranny, close to the driveshaft I believe.

I have the Xcalibrator, Will the Xcalibrator be able to adjust the speedo if I get gears?
