Default Where to tune..

Just got 31 spline axles differential and 3.73 gears installed, need to get my speedometer in tune Do I need a shop with a dyno? Thanks!

Also, if anyone would happen to know if they sell convertible tops where the glass is already attached, or do all kits come disassembled. Thanks again!

You need a speed cal or you have to get different speedo gears for the trans to fix your problem.
The tops are a 2 piece design. The top itself and the piece that has the window in it. The window piece is attached first and than the top is put on over it

Thanks BraMas. My top is in HORRIBLE shape, so that is next for me (2 weeks). Any way you could link me speedo gears for my stock tranny to work with the frpp 3.73's?

For the long run you would be better off getting a tuner and changing it through that

I found the little gears for the tranny, 17 bucks. Im a car newb as BraMas knows, so dont mind my stupidness...the money spent on a speedo recal tool, could also be used for a decent tuner for my car that would do the same thing? It has a POS hypertech one right now, change when fan goes on, rev limit, an i forget what the other thing was.

To my knowledge we can't change the speedo with a tuner in a 97

I just recently changed my stock gears to 4.10's and I purchased both the speedometer gear and the speedcal. Installed my speedometer gear but was having problems with the speedcal after I installed it so I took it off until I can find someone to install it for me. Purchased the speedcal from american muscle for $199.99, bramas gave you the link. And I purchased the speedometer gear from steeda autosports for $16.75. Here's the link.

And yes, you are correct, you cannot change the speedometer with a tuner on the 96-98 mustangs.
