Default Vortech v1 or v3 kits

$3,000.00 for the v1 kit NEW complete minus aftercooler, v3 kit complete w aftercooler $4,800.00 for the v3 kit??? pros and cons for both? seems like alot of difference the v3 kit is clamied to be 50+ more hp than the v1. also i believe the v3 is oil line free where as the vi requires a drilled oil pan w line? is the power difference only the aftercooler? do they test the v1 kit without one? sorry for all questions. oh yea stock 02 gt 60k miles 5spd
thanks

They both will do the same job The v3 is suppose to be more efficient in a higher horsepower combos. You can run anaftermarket cooler with a v1 they start at around $150++. Im running 339rwhp 359 rwtq at only 5psi my base dyno was 233rwhp 266rwtq. gain of 106 rwhp and 93 ft lbs. As far as oil fed and oil tapped the v3 is self contained so when the oil when warm/hot stays in the head unit non filtered. With a tapped unit like the v1, v2 it runs off the engine oil that oil goes throug the filter and all and Should be cooler than the small amout of oil that stays in the self contained unit and on a tapped unit when you change your oil your blower also gets fresh new oil that will be filtered over time. The power diff should be in the design since the v3 is newer there are some impeller diff for quieter sound and bearing difference for more efficient spool up/use if you catch my drift. Both will get the job done. The aftercooler is better for the dragstrip bc you can add ice and cold water to it but it will heat up over time. The aftermarket intercooler front mount intercooler that you can add with the v1 or v2 is said to be better for daily use bc its mounted in the front and gets cooled from the outside air passing over the fins just like the cars radiator. they are recommended for anything above 8 or some say 10 psi bc the higher the boost number the more heat you are creating from the compressed air. the reason dont have one now is bc im only at 5psi. Take ya time do a bit more reasearch and you will come to a conclusion. also check out different forums for more info also from experienced people. Good luck.

The price difference is because of the aftercooler setup. The V1 is the more powerful, but also more noisy blower. if you intend to go above 550 rwhp down the road get the V1 otherwise get the V3.

I have a question, why is there a $1800 difference between the so called complete non intercooled V1, and the intercooled V3? For darn near 2K all you get is the intercooler and the V3 vs the V1? If so that seems way excessive.

If you check the price on those aftercoolers for vortech or the intercoolers from procharger they are Very expensive.

Wow that is totally ridiculous lol. On top of that i hear that their aftercooler is not even that good compared to others for general street use.
