Yes EGT is exhaust gas temp, I run it on my cummins diesel... for example, with towing or highly modded diesels, when you continue to run the truck hard with the turbo, you EGT's increase, and they will continue to increase until you stop. Why would you stop? Aluminum can melt around 1600 degrees, i can temporarily hit 1000 just driving my stock truck around pulling a hill quickly. For a turbo'd diesel, a pyrometer and egt guage is real important. Diesel will continue to do its job as long as there is fuel, you keep on the gas, your keep making power and heating up the motor, until it melts. You watch the EGT, you get up around 1400....it'd be wise to stop. and stop now.

Yea monitoring egts is only good for diesel owners who tow or got a lot of mods for us mustang drivers its really not all that important. (As a matter of fact its a pain to put on because you actually have to drill into your exhaust manifold to be able to use it) The livewire is pretty sick as well as the tsx touchscreen, performance wise they will do exactly the same thing. The only difference between the two is that the TSX is a color/touch screen and larger in size, as well as able to hold more memory. If you got the money and wanna be fancy go with the TSX but if you just want the performance and would rather spent your hard earned money on something else get the Livewire.

Also the TSX has the option of being wireless but then its battery operated and you have to recharge it which could be pain. But thats an option you can always have it plugged in.
