2000 GT Tuning
Hey guys, what's up? Here's the deal, my friend is buying a 2000 GT vert today, 90,000 miles, incredibly clean. It is 100% stock and I was hoping for some suggestions on tuning the car. Are there any specific tweaks that these motors respond well to in the timing and fuel tables?

Personally i'd tell him to go to americanmuscle. You can get a free tune with the purchase of a tuner that youll need to tune it anyway. Personally i dont believe theres a whole lot to be gained on a stock car with a tuner. The timing i belidve is a little soft, but your not going to see a radical difference.

I was asking cause I have a tuner with a open spot on it and when he replaces his wheels I'm getting a good deal on the current ones he has. I've heard of some vehicles that are drastically off (from a performance standpoint) in factory tune.
So maybe 1 degree advanced at low RPM, mid RPM advance 2 degree and then 3-4 degree at high RPM? Does anyone know if these cars run lean or rich from the factory? Or are they pretty much good for the fuel trim?
This car is also by no means going to stay stock. Bolt on's will be the first step (probably later in the month) but later on down the road cams spec-ed for a supercharger and a procharger are in the works. then later on strengthen up the rotating assembly. he wants to be around 400-450 at the wheels. also whats a safe power level for a factory motor (boost psi and all that)?

The V2 Multiloader will only work with the new interface.
Do you know the box code for your friend's car? It should be one of these:
It will be on a label on the PCM, or if you download the stock tune with the interface (this will use your remaining "bullet") it will as you know be in the filename when you save slot 6 to your PC.
If you can get the box code, and what octane fuel he will be running, I can see what changes Special Forces will make in the base tune and recommend some fine tuning tweaks...
If you do not have a wide band O2 system you should not muck about with fueling. The SF base tune will lean out the mix at higher throttle settings and engine speed, where the stock tune is pig-rich.
