If you want to keep the stock valves, pistons, and valve springs (no machining valves or notching pistons, etc) i'd highly suggest MHS stage 2 cams. That's what i run, and run a 100 shot as well. You'll be fine to spin these cams to 6200-6300 rpm on the stock valve springs too. Also ptv clearance will not be a problem with these cams.

If you want to get more aggressive you'll need to notch the pistons and/or machine the intake valves, and then you can run pretty much whatever you want.

Id look into Modular Head Shop...or Cushman Motorsports. They both have AWESOME cam choices and springs available for what you want...

What you have id almost do a MHS stage 2. MRTstang is runnin em w/ a hundred shot and makes GREAT power..

EDIT: Damn you beat me!! hahah

+1 on MHS.

and if you want absolutely no PTV problems, i'd get their stock modified valves since they're only 79$. they grind down the edges ever so slightly to increase performance and eliminate most if not all PTV problems.

see difference here:

but as stated, stage 2's alone would be fine without modified valves/pistons.

Anything ground by Bullit Cams is good. Thats what the MHS and CMS cams are. As for your specific application, talk to Nick @ MHS, hell guide you in the right direction...

BTW, do you plan on installing the cams yourself?

Thanks guys MHS stage 2 seems to be the choice.. also i want to be able to rev up to 7k so springs WILL be upgraded and my PP Manifold will be on next week. Also i dont mind buying valves (if needed for what i want) pistons on the other hand.... lol

also mrtystang did you dyno before your cams?

i dynoed 261/310 with intake, tb plenum, shorty headers, udp, xpipe ,catback and sc,tune kinda afraid of the torque... ima put down on the 100 shot with cams..

If you want to spin to 7,000rpm and don't mind upgrading the valves, you can fit a better set of cams in there.
