Default Road in a 5.0 today..

Well gentalmen there's this guy that lives down the street from me who had recently owned a 03 Honda Civic. When he would pass by the house and my door was open, he would give it a quick rev and go on about his buisness. Well anyways, I'm washing the old ladies Bimmer today and he pulls up in a 2011 5.0 (auto). I must admit this car is beautiful. He goes on to say how he's already smoked a newer model Camaro SS and totally destroyed his buddies bolt on 99 GT.Then he asked me if I wanted to go for a ride. I was like sure. Wow men, I must say the technolgy from my 03 to his 11 was out of this world. Navigation, Sattelite radio, the ride, everything, I must admit, was out of this world. He** even the stock exhuast sounded bad a** under throttle. When he got on it, it pulled like a beast. Pretty sure there will be a race between him and I in the near future. So what's you guys take on the 11 5.0? Looks, performance, etc., etc.,

IMO The new 5.0 is the best bang for the buck performance car right now. Its as fast as an m3 and cost half as much. Im hoping of picking up a used one in a few years after the 2014 comes out and the 2011 gets cheaper. As far as looks go, its a mustang so I think they look pretty good. BTW I think you will take him in a race. Thats just my .02

Completely agree with all of what was said right here. Plan on pickin one up after about 3+ years also. And when you race him and beat him at the track make sure you get it on camera.

The new 5.0 is an incredible bang for the buck IMO. If you do race him, you should smoke him with your setup. You're about 300 lbs lighter, and have 20-30 hp more.

+1 my friend / Roommate has an 2011 GT500 and Wished he would have gotten a 2011 5.0 Didnt do enough research. Still its an amazing car, but just not worth the extra 20k... Interior is amazing...(Well before we saw the new gt500 seats lol)

I think you will definitely have him for now, Once he gets Tune it will be a drivers race. (local guy around here has a new GT and with just a tune he is BOTTOM 12's.. 12.1 He is getting drag radials soon to break into the 11's)

Pisses me off, at NMRA few weeks ago there were many bolton 2011 Gt's running bottom 11's..... Supercharged one running 10.1 with a BLOWER, Tune and Wheels.... WTF... As much money as i have spent on my car it drives me crazy lol... Once my car is done (month or two i hope) I will be thinking about getting a 2011 gt as a DD... Putting my stang in the garage and going for 1k+ HP

I test drove a manual with 3.73 option on it and it was a beast. Spun the tires in 3rd easily on the street. Everything about that car is well thought out and just feels right. I'm def with you guys about picking up a used one in a couple years, they're just so easy to mod and make wicked fast.

I agree the 5.0 is money well spent. I prefer the California Special in Grabber Blue.
