You got a great deal on a 5.4. I bought a crate 5.4 a year and a half ago from karkraft.com for $2,900 and did a swap on a 98 F150 to a 2001 5.4. See the thread below for all the info. I got to make the swap happen. Good luck. I want to do the same swap on my 98 GT, but have to wait till I have the cash.

so i can use my 4.6 ecu and still keep my spark plug wires, and i can have superchips make a tuner or a preburnt chip?
and also what do you guys think i should do about my hood? i dont really want to buy a new hood and have it painted. do you guys thik a hood scoop from a 02+ GT would look good on a 96 hood?
Status: offline Hi! I'm new to this group. I have a 98gt which is still stock, but I did a swap on a 98 F150 from a 4.6 to a 2001 5.4 a year and a half ago. I used my stock wiring harness and ECU, but changed out the COP ignition from the 2001 to the coil packs from the 98. I also had Troyer Performance tune a SuperChip for me to the computer code FOU which was the code from my year. There are also issues of Windsor versus Romeo with the flex plate. Do some research and it can be done. You will need to make some custom brackets for the accessories, but nothing you need a machine shop for. The only other issue I had was getting the exhaust hooked up and was able to have custom tubes bent.

and i was reading on your F150online forum and they said some thing about a november issue that the dynoed a 5.4 mustang. did you ever get one and if so do you remember the hp it put down? i would really think to know the HP of a 5.4 mustang

another thing puting my stock mustang cams is a must right,becuz i was lookin at the stock hp and torque of a f-150 and it was 260hp and 350 torque, mustang should have more radical cams and that would help out the hp right???
and i have a 99 so my cams would fit on a 2002 5.4 head
