98 mustang gas tank help

Default 98 mustang gas tank help

Hi, I replaced the fuel pump a few months ago in my 98 gt. since then it wouldn't seal right. it started leaving a little gas now its a decent amount when you fill the tank. i put the new gasket in from tank to sending unit in and it still doesn't seal. do i need to put some sorta sealer on the gasket as well? tank is almost dropped now so some help soon would be great thanks - Nick

Its the filler tube seal leaking.
They can rip pretty easy when pulling filler tube out of tank.

Yea i replaced mine about 6 months ago. So its not the o-ring its actually the gasket between the sending unit and the tank. I found out the seal that came with the fuel pump i bought didn't sit right when i took off the sending unit. So I trimmed it down and put a bunch of black gasket sealer . I know its kinda rigging it but It will work for now till I find a musting on craigslist getting parted out for cheap. Thanks for the help tho
