Default What To Do First

I just got a 1997 Mustang Gt five speed and I dont know where to start. I think I might try rims first with 285-35-18s does anyone have they can add that would help

I guess that depends on if you are going for looks or performance, looks wise thats all up to you man what u think looks good, You want to go with 18's I would suggest getting some 18" Chromed Saleens have some on my car and they look awesome on the 96-98 GT's IMHO.
Performance wise, best thing u can do since u are a 96-98 GT is the PI headswap that will put you right up there if not a bit above the 99+ GT's. If you want to start a bit smaller an O/R mid-pipe is always a good starting point, gears are also a great first mod.

a catback is always a good starting point b/c it makes ur stang sound nasty and also it gives u a little bit more HP

I would like to know if 285-35-18s would fit all around on my 97 also I was looking at some bbk parts like the air intake, headers, and X pipe.

BBK Longtubes and X is a great start... then go for gears! Dunno about the wheels....

i have 285/35/18 on one of my saleens and 295/35/18 on the other and they cant hook for ****.
