Gas smell inside car!

Gas smell inside car!
I have a 98 GT and SOMETIMES not all the time when sitting at a stop light it will start idling rough and sometimes even die along with a strong gas smell inside the car. Anyone have any ideas on what I should check to fix this? I am not showing any codes under the dash. I heard that there is another OBDII port under the hood, but have not been able to find it. Is this true?

I was filling the car up at the gas station today and the pump kept shutting off with only 1/4 tank of gas in the car. I have to force gas into it now which I didnt use to have to do. Anyone have any ideas? I cant seem to find any fuel leaks.
