Its the exact same mill. I must assume you either blew yours up...or you're going to build the '01 then swap the two. Otherwise its pointless.

Yeah build then swap, original has 303,000 miles and trust me there hard miles. I can pick up a wrecked 01 for cheap so I was wandering the hassle and if was even possible. Another question is if I can put DOHC heads on the block? Thanks Again for the info.

You COULD put DOHC heads on but its not worth the hassle. Not by a long shot. Build the 2v or find a 4v motor. The 2v is rather underestimated, in the right hands anyway. Get a build plan in order... N/A or FI. Build the bottom, stroke if you want, and either p&p your stock PI heads or get some TFS TW heads.

Going to try to run this one for another year will I build another one up. Would like to have one around 400 horses but still got decent mileage if at all possible.

think about all of the cabs that run crown vics that have the 4.6 with well over that and city driving and the cop cars that also rack up hard miles on the same type of engine also. You should be able to get well over 300k if its maintained right.

Yeah the engine I want has 30,000 miles on it so maybe when mine goes out I can get another 12 years out my car.

My 98 is siting on 160K and most of it is highway miles. Maybe I will put a supercharger on it.
