Default SCT LiveWire... No idea how to tune my car?

Hey guys, I bought a 2001 mustang gt coupe (auto) a few days ago slightly modded (flowmaster, cold air intake, possibly 4.10 ratio? Not sure about the ratio even, how do I tell?) I bought it from the second owner, he bought it from a dealership and said the first owner made the modifications, so I can't contact him to find out exactly what it does have. But on to the question about the livewire, I go to change the tuning options, and there's a long list, most of which I have no idea of their meaning. I can't find a manual online or information online about how to tune using it, so I figured I'd ask here and see if anyone knows. Thanks a lot.

Don't try and tune it yourself. If you dont know exactly what you are doing, very good cause you will damage the car.

Get a email tune from place like Brenspeed, AM, or BBR. Then use the Livewire to upload the tune they email you to the car.

best thing to do is to get the car to a dyno tuner, the email tunes while being close are often times far from being spot on.. My mail order tune had me running dangerously lean and it was from vmp tuning (which is one of the better mail order tuners out there) Thing is, if the car is stock, they can do it for ya no prob, once you start piling mods on, the dynamics change depending on what you've done, gas quality, and atmospherics.

If you're wanting to tinker with the tune yourself, get a wideband for a/r not exactly the only thing you'd want to monitor but it'll keep ya from blowing your engine.

Also, lift the rear of the car and support it with jacks. Mark off a spot on your driveshaft and rear wheels with chalk, spin the rear wheel 1 full revolution, count the amount of full revs your driveshaft turns, this will give ya an idea of what your ratio is.

From my experience most of those tuning sites will make the tunes run very rich, which is better than lean but still not great. Each car is different so a dyno tune is the only way to get the full potential from your car.

^ Listen to these guys, spend the extra money for taking it to the shop. Long-term peace at mind, knowing its done 100% right.
