In what gear or gears is this noticeable?

How long has it been straight piped? Or did you Just get it str8 piped and tuned and you lost your low end right afterwards?

When you say "straight piped" do you mean that you don't have a Mid Pipe ie X or H? If no that is where your torque went

It's not going to have a lot of pick up in higher gears at that speed, but how is the fuel filter? Those are often neglected, and you'd be surprised how much a dirty filter can affect performance.

are you sure this is a 'problem' or are you expecting the car to just get up and go at that low of rpms and it isnt?

I'll be honest, unless my car is in 1st or 2nd gear, punching it below 2200 yields little to no 'oomph'

As others said, check your fuel filter, air filter, and maf....

if the car is chugging or surging then you might have spark plug problems..

this was one of the first signs I had an improperly gapped plug (due to the plug stripping the threads and being struck by the piston)

i need to check the fuel filter air filter is good and its probly just the fact that im not use to an overhead cam car all the v8 cars i have had have been single cam push rood motors and the torque starts out lower where in the stang under 1800rpm its a dog after it hits over that it breaks the tires loose and takes off like id expect
