axle work
Getting 4.10s installed in my 04 gt w/ automatic this weekend, was just wondering if i should get rid of the traction lok and install a true posi or leave the traction lok in there and just disable with the button whenever i wanna horse around. Any ideas?

The Traction Control has nothing to do with a Traction Loc differential. One monitors wheel rotation speeds and reacts to prevent significant wheel spin, the other "locks" the rear wheels together so that they apply the torque to the ground.
Aside from that, I would suggest the following if you currently have more than 50,000 miles on the car:
1. replace the bearings while it is apart.
2. replace the axle seals while it is apart.
3. rebuild the factory diff if over about 75,000 miles, or replace the diff with a nice aftermarket diff unit if you plan to drag race it and want a tight diff. If replacing the diff for hard usage, step up to a 31 spline set-up while doing it.
These items add additional cost, but they are worth it so that you won't have to worry about the rear for a long time when done.
