Smelled strong odor of fuel after nitrous run
Had a disappointing and baffling night at the track the other night. Not gonna get into times or anything but lets just say I was running pre-nitrous times when I was running my nitrous. So my times flat out sucked. Here's where it gets baffling so I need to see what all you guys think. After my last run of the night I popped my hood to let the engine cool off when a strong odor of fuel hit me in the face. I checked my fuel lines, nitrous fuel lines, fuel injectors and everything thing else in my engine bay to see if I could see any leaking fuel or anything and couldn't find squat. It seems to be coming from the passenger side of the engine only. My first thought was that I ran out of nitrous and the system was just spraying fuel into my intake but that wasn't the case. When I got home I weighed my bottle and it weighed 18.5 lbs so there was still 3.5 lbs of nitrous in there. So I thought I would get on the throttle a little bit on the way home and then see if I could smell gas from the engine when I got home and couldn't smell a thing. So it seems to be doing it only when the nitrous kicks in and not when nitrous is turned off. Sorry for the long post but I want to be as specific as possible to see if anybody knows what could be going on. Won't be using nitrous again until this is figured out. Thanks guys.

you think you could be blowin out a spark!! could have for some reason leaned out a stuck injector and just filled a cylinder...maybe check your oil for fuel smell...higher hp cars with FI tend to make all sorts of smells from oil to gas...if you have a y band maybe go do some pulls on the street make sure it all looks pretty
