I have an 01 GT that loses power while driving, it only does it for a second then it's fine. It will do this at different speeds and RPMs and it does it numerous times during the day. No codes at all and I drive around with a scanner hooked up to it but I never see anything wrong. I could be just cruising or getting on the gas and it will go fine then sputter and then be fine a second later. Any suggestions?? One time it did this, only once, the RPM and MPH gauges spun around and then went back to normal which lead me to think it might be a ground issue so I cleaned all my engine bay grounds which didn't help.

Also once when it did this it backfired but I thought it might have been because I have no Cats.

The backfiring and gauges thing only happened once out of 100 times this car does this.

my car was once bogging like that when i cleaned my air filter and my friend put **** load of oil on it after. Apparently it sucked in some of the oil and stained the MAF, once I cleaned the MAF it ran like new again

From your description it could be a number of things. Might be the fuel pump starting to go. Might be the IACV (try cleaning this first). BTW is it an auto or manual tranny?
