Default 00 GT acceleration problem

Hi, I have a 2000 5spd manual gt.....I noticed yesterday that when I shift into 5th around 50mph and give it gas it's hesitating real bad. Almost like fuel is not getting to it or something. I bought some fuel injector cleaner and put super unleaded in it today. The problem is still there. I thought maybe its transmission slipping or clutch maybe??? But I don't know much about it.
Any suggestions would be helpful!

i wouldn't expect much power at 50mph in 5th bro. you're still under 1500 rpms at that point. if its hesitating as you state, you should feel the car bucking or "hiccuping," as some say. if thats the case, plugs may be your problem, but for good measure, i would recommend replacing the fuel filter if you haven't done so in the last 15k miles. also, putting premium in a car that isn't tuned for it won't help you any..

Whens the last time the fuel filter was changed? Is the CEL on?

You can not seriously expect your car to accelerate while in 5th do you? I'm pretty sure there is nothing wrong with your car might need the Driver Mod.

Are you going up a steep hill when you put it 5th at such a low speed?

Yes..Gears like 4:10s will still pull in 5th pretty well over 60 mph

A sticking EGR valve can cause this. It is open while cruising at light loads and does not close fast enough when you accelerate, making the mix lean until it does close.

I had the same problem last year, being too cheap to buy a new valve I just disabled the EGR in the tune...

I'm not trying to accelerate didn't mean to put it that way...I shift into 5th around 50-55 and cruise to save gas milage...either way I shifted into 5th and 70mph last night and it still "hiccupped" I replaced fuel filter today, gettin ready to see if that was the problem.
Thanks
