Default Will super 44s fit stock exhaust?

I have a 98 Mustang GT with stock h-pipe and some stock GT mufflers bolted on. Will super 44s fit my exhaust? Can I bolt on the 44s or is welding recommended? Am I better off getting O/R X pipes?

It should be fine Welding them in place of your stock GT mufflers. If you do get an aftermarket mid-pipe I would go with an H-pipe...

Flows sound better with H-pipe IMO

The 44's will weld in as long as they match the diameter of the piping you have on there. And I will also recommend the H pipe, they sound much deeper than the x pipes. However, you will gain an extra 10HP or so by getting the x.

I would just save up for the bolt in catback. The stock 2.25 pipes leave a lot to be desired IMO.

^what he said.

Save up and then check out completeexhaust.com. Call them and say you're a member of this forum and get a great discount. I picked up my Magnaflow catted X and cat back for $762 delivered a few years back. Even with delivery, I saved over $250. Last year I bought an exhaust for my F150 and they were still giving a good discount. Good luck!

The 44's will weld into the stock piping(2.25" diameter stock, but 2.5" mufflers can be welded on).
If the 44's are much shorter than the stock mufflers, you may end up cutting out more length than you are replacing it with so don't be surprised there.

An H-pipe with chambered mufflers is the way to go. The X-pipes with chambered mufflers sound raspy. The X-pipe won't gain you more than 2 additional rwhp vs an H-pipe, so don't decide which to buy based on any power difference.

GOOD LUCK!
I hope it turns out the way you want.
