Default Body Work Help

Hi All,

Long time I know, I have a couple questions for anyone out there that has done body work on these cars. I am painting my silver GT and helping the guy do it, He is currently painting a 87 5.0 and I told him i will start on some of the prep work. My question is about the side door louvers. Has anyone taken those off? Which also brings me to the hood scoop piece. Are these just 3M Taped onto the body? Will I have to strip the inside panels and look for plates on the quarter panels to remove those side louvers?

Any advice would be great as to start stripping these elements from the body to begin sanding. Thanks all!

The side louvers have plastic clips holding them in place, that will likely break when you remove them--there is a gaping hole in the body underneath the panels BTW--the photo is not a suggested removal method).

The hood scoop is held by seven studs and nuts, you need to remove the hood liner to get at them:
