Default How much more can be had?

I somewhat got my car tuned after the motor build. The reason I say somewhat is because I was having a computer/converter issue and we could only take the car up to 5800 rpms. At 5800 rpms I was seeing 16psi. My car seemed to be getting a little on the hot side, so just recently I relocated my tranny cooler from in front of my i/c and put it in my d/s fender to try to get more air to the i/c and I also installed a Reische 170 thermo instead of the 180 I had. I am going to wait until the end of summer, and bring the car back to my tuner so we can figure out this computer unlocking my converter issue and take the car higher in the rpms. The car has not even seen meth yet. I guess my question is, if say the car can be dyno'd to around 6400-6500, is there still a significant amount of hp/tq to be had from my last 5800rpm pull or are gains minimal past this point? Is it unrealistic to shoot for 540rwhp off the meth, and when adding meth 600rwhp? My curves seemed to still want to pull at 5800 pretty hard:

I'm having a similar problem with my computer unlocking the converter. You'll have to update the thread when you get it figured out.

danm the way that torque curve looks if that thing could rev to 7000 id say 600 motor all day long, but at 6500ish with the meth id say you get there.

damn dude holy sh*t now all of a sudden im kinda not looking forward to my 280ish rwhp

I definitely will. I had one tuner tell me my converter was shot and brought the car to another tuner before spending $1000 on a new converter and he said its something with the computer telling the converter to unlock and a lot of auto mustangs do this, but he knows how to tune around it so I'll let ya know

That's what I've been told by a few of the more knowledgeable tuners. Nice to hear that it's a "common" issue although I haven't heard of this before.

My trans shifts fine into 2nd and 3rd then for some reason downshifts into 2nd and unlocks the converter. It's really annoying.

just curious and this is kinda OT but what do you think uour car would dyno with a Manual trans? id like a similiar build once i get to my permanant duty station.

Not really too sure, since my converter is unlocked on the dyno it should be hp for hp what a manual would put down...if it were locked thats another story

when we get the bugs worked out and meth spraying I'm shooting for 600rwhp before I step up to a JT/YSI and then probably shoot for 650+
