Default Taking Mufflers Off?

I have a 1996 GT and I was wondering how the performance/loudness of my car would change if I took off my mufflers? Would it make my car sound like a junker?

I don't have to worry about emissions, btw.

if you do dumps like its a drag car it will sound like a drag car without tone plus with the absence of back pressure it might decrease your power..

what alot of guys do including myself is get rid of the cats and get a new x/h pipe and a new set of mufflers

research on youtube and streetfire for sound clips of all the diff sounds and go from there

Will I lose power if I get rid of the cats?

dumping the exhaust out of the muffler is a pretty good in between in my opinion, its louder but not ridiculous. I cant imagine driving around with no muffler at all ha

but I am also a fan of the no exhaust tip look

pretty sure something there does not add up... back pressure is a necessary evil is it not?

i ran with no cats and stock muffler for awhile it wasnt bad at all then switched to an aftermarket muffler gave it more sound

you will gain alittle bit of power by lowering the restriction but if you lower too much then it will start to counteract

many guys run no cats with aftermarket mufflers i would suggest it with the 40's you will love it!
