I just saw this thread and want to throw one thing out there: I had a very similar prob with an IAC valve, and the auto zone IAC valve that I tried turned out to be wrong for my mustang, as in auto zone had the incorrect part listed for my car. This was a 95 mustang, but still, you might want to try to check on that...

It can happen. I bought a TPS once and it was bad. It's just luck you just happen to be the winner of a bad IAC. I would listen to what cliff said about your maf. Put the stock back on and see if that changes. Maybe go back to autozone and get a new IAC.

Sorry cliffy for not saying anything about it I figured the car could not adjust to that flow since the tubes going from the throttlebody to the maf housing are still the same size and the car ran fine before.

Did you pull the battery for 10 mins and then put it back in? And did you put your stock MAF back in? If the MAF isn't stock then that's probably the cause of your idling problems.
