Default Brakes Off of a 99-01 V6

There's a wrecked V6 near me and I was thinking of asking the owner if he was selling his front brake calipers. I figured it would be a cheap swap for dual piston brake calipers vs. my front calipers.

I was wondering would I have to do anything more of is it a direct swap onto a 96 GT?

And is it really worth it. IMO I think it is, but that is me.

It is a straight forward swap (they are exactly the same as the 99-04 GT).
IMO, might as well find a set of used 13" for the front. I've seen them for as cheap as $250 (calipers, rotors and SS lines).

There is also somewhere that sells front Cobra style brakes with SS lines for $599. I'm not sure if posting a link is allowed but pick up a Mustang magazine a browse the vendor ads.

You can get them MUCH cheaper than that if you look around.

I'm just looking for a small upgrade. 13" brakes would be awesome except I still need my stock 16's for the winter weather. Plus I figured I could pick the calipers up really cheap.

Then the 99-04 is exactly what you need.

SVTPerformance.com's For Sale section or Craigslist are two great places to start.
