After looking it back up they are similar in price. The KBs come in kits which cost more so that was throwing me off. Oops! lol

Thanks for the tips everyone. I'm comparing brand new vs brand new prices and the procharger is running a bit over $5K and the KB is showing on their site at $5K even. I'm only considering an intercooled kit so those kits for less than $4K seem to be non-existent. I only want intercooled as I live in central Texas and the heat gets bad here quick (over 100 for nearly 50 days straight now) and I'm looking to run 9-10psi as the whole goal is to make the 02 comparable in power to my SC 10GT which is right at 400rwhp.

I've considered used but am just afraid to pick up someone else’s junk that they've cleaned up but beat the heck out of. I don't mind spending a bit more for the added piece of mind of having a complete kit that I know how it's been cared for plus my budget is about $10K right now. I figured if I keep the 02GT I’ll SC it, add some long tube headers, upgrade the susp (since is a vert) and maybe go with some 3.73’s. That should make for a fun car :-)

I don't spend much time above 3.5-4K RPM's as it is thus why I'm betting I like the PD SC on my 10GT.

I appreciate the feedback. I guess now I keep my search for a cobra open and then make the decision on which SC to get if I don't find one at a decent price soon.

I'm sure there are threads on this and I will go do a search, but I am new to super chargers and am basically dream building...but I'd like to know
why the 2.6 is so awesome?

Once I have my car paid off I'm gonna buy an SC, but I'd kinda like to say under $4000. I guess $5,000 would be a max for me.

I want the best one for my money and after reading GT's posts I'm guessing a 2.6 is the way to go. I'd hate to get a 2.1 and then have the same kind of regrets. And I want to be as quick as possible while still maintaining 9-10psi so I don't blow anything.

So is that $4,000 - $5,000 price range acceptable for a 2.6, and even if it's not what are the best websites to go to to get one?

I will consider used when the time comes to shop around, but for now I'd like to know new prices so I can get a baseline on the worst case scenerio.

Also, what about Turbo?

I want the 2.6 just because I'm dropping a built motor in the car, so I'm going to up the boost. The 2.1 is perfect for stock motors, I actually love mine I just wanna get the 2.6 for the bigger displacement and ability to run more boost. I think the 2.6 can also be sent in to be rebuilt with the new liquid cool technology they have, I know the 2.1 they don't offer that option.

So if I'm not going to rebuild my motor than I should be looking at 2.1?

Is there a good 2.1 setup for less than $4000? If so who makes it...and if you could post an internet link, or at least a website I'd love to have that saved for when the time comes?

You can find used 2.1 kb's for under 4k, I know I paid under 4k for my 2.1. Watch the classifieds on here, svtperformance.com in the other vehicles classifieds, and corral.net in the power adder classifieds. They pop up all that time for around or under 4k

So what are they new? Like $6000?

And what brands are we talking here...the same as the OP is asking about Vortech and Procharger?

Are there other brands I should be considering or keeping my eyes out for in the classifieds?

Are KB and whipple out of my leage price-wise.

And what about Turbo?
