Default Need new strut tower brace help please!

I recently did a head/cam swap on my 96 GT and I now have polyurethane motor mounts so the engine sits higher. I had to take off the tower brace because my CAI is too high and the brace doesnt fit so I need one that sits higher, does anyone know a company that makes a higher sitting one? Thanks guys

I recommend you just remove it and not spend the money on a new one. They are of very little, if any, improvement and better off spending money on something more bad-*** like a GR-40/SLA suspension system instead

Jazzer... pimpin' the twisties again

Even on a vert? Just thought it would help with the flex issues. I know nothing serious will happen, just a percautionary thing

The BEST thing for a vert, is a nice set of FLSFC's. The OEM bolt-on ones are all but useless. A STB wont hurt, but spend that money on some good frame connectors and have them welded in place. This will be of FAR greater benefit than a STB.

i don't know if your hood has enough clearance, but i know that the mach 1 strut tower bar is a little higher so that it will fit underneath the shaker. that's what i have on mine to fit under the shaker on my GT.

dude, I have a BRAND NEW black powder coated Steeda strut tower brace for 96-98 GT's if interested. I'll shoot ya a PM. It is meant to clear blower piping so it should clear no problems. Let me know if interested.

I would imagine that the 03/04 cobra strut bar would fit also. It looks like it sits up higher to allow for the eaton.

Is there any reason you could not put some spacers underneath to elevate it up as much as needed? What kind of lift do you have and exactly how is it secured?

Pics?

I suspect that JAZZER is headed down the right path here.
I wouldn't think that simply adding poly motor mounts would raise the motor height a lot. A relatively small spacer on each side should probably address your new clearance problem. You might need longer bolts and have to slot the holes on the sides of the towers, but that is not a problem.
