Default Which clutch???

Ok, so my car starts getting torn down tomorrow for the makeover. The engine is getting forged internals and compression dropped to 9.1. Manley H-beams and CP pistons. It is also getting a Procharger P1SC making 10 PSI. I bought the blower used off of SVT Performance with very low miles. He had pretty much the same setup as me and he made 449 at the tires. Not too shabby.

Right now the clutch isn't all that great... I can slip it power shifting pretty easily, so obviously it needs to be replaced. I want to replace it with something that will be street friendly with good driveability, but it also needs to hold that kind of power (possibly more as I may put cams in it in the future). So what would you guys recommend? I was thinking a spec stage 3??? Pretty cheap. Found them online for $315 and free shipping.

The T-45 will also be getting gone through. It needs a synchro kit for sure, and I will replace any bearings that look questionable. Any other recommendations? I do not want to spend a lot on it, because if it brakes I will upgrade to a T-56. But if there are parts that can make it hold the power and NOT brake, I will upgrade now and not worry about the T-56 swap...

Wow, so nobody on here has an aftermarket clutch? That's odd. I didn't know factory ones lasted forever and held all the power you could throw at them. I must have gotten a dud.

Haha.

I actually drove an 03 with a stage 3+ and it was fine. I didn't think it was all that "on or off" as people say. But I don't really need the 3+... its $100 more than the regular stage 3 so I will probably go with that.

i just dont care for the puck style of the 3 maybe a 2+ would be a better set up for you...the centerforce DF might be alittle more then you need lol idk if they have lower hp centerforce df casue i know my spec twin disc i have the smallest and thats 900ftlb of torque to the flywheel so that would be way to much haha

Look into the keisler rs600 5 speed, its a built tranny based off the t45, swapping a t56 into a sn95 isnt a direct swap and will require a custom driveshaft and also the cutting and re-welding of the trans crossmember mounts on the chasis. Stage 3 or 3+ spec should be fine.
