Ball park estimate of install of 3.73s?

So im thinking of changing out the 3.27s that came with my car to 3.73s..minus the cost of the gears..how much do you think ill have to pay for install?

mrtstang 08-15-2011 09:09 PM

IIRC, i paid around $350 for the install.

$300-400 for labor seems to be the going rate.

djd2392 08-15-2011 09:18 PM

will i see a big difference?

I paid $250, go with 4.10's

Dr.JZ 08-15-2011 09:18 PM

350 is the going rate around here....

although, check with nitrousbob....apparently, he is the gear expert around this forum...

speedkills 08-15-2011 09:18 PM

what would it be to rebuild the diff at the same time?

mrtstang 08-15-2011 09:23 PM

3.27's to 3.73's will be a modest kick in the pants (my 3.90's were definitely noticeable) but really 4.10's would be a better choice if staying n/a.

Mine was $250 for gear install, new clutch packs installed and bearing and seal kit install. doesn't make a sound

my 3.73 insall was $300 and it was noticable and decent for highway driving also
