Dangerous Fuel Levels with BAP?
 

So, I just finished installing my KB 2.1L last Friday and am running the BAP from their kit. I read that you shouldn't run your gas tank under 1/4 due to it over heating the pump. Has anyone ever ran into problems by running below 1/4 tank? I have no problem filling it up at a 1/4 tank but was just wondering. Thanks guys.

I'm anxious to hear this response since I too am planning to add a BAP, but I WON"T fill my tank everytime before it gets to 1/4 tank. This would be a deal breaker for me on the BAP.

I have never heard this and see no such caution in KB's documents here and here. In the latter document they specifically state:

"Failure of pumps caused by the BAP are non-existent. They are as reliable as the sunset, as with our Boost-A-Spark ignition system. We use the Boost-A-Pump on virtually every kit (they are included at no added cost). We have never seen a failed pump that was caused by a Boost-A-Pump."

If it were true they would certainly make mention and highlight the issue if for no other reason than as a CYA statement...

Ive heard that if you have dual cobra fuel pumps that you shouldnt run it below 1/4 tank bc of the fuel sloshing back in the gt tank with no baffles and causing fuel starvation.

Its recommended not to run under 1/4 of a tank with a kb because of fuel starvation. Stock gt tanks don't have a baffle or a sump so they recommend not going below 1/4 tank because of fuel sloshing around that could cause pump starvation.

Wouldn't this apply to every GT, not just those running a BAP???
If so, my don't we hear of this happening to a lot of guys?

My understanding for it was because you are in the power band with the kb a lot sooner than non pd superchargers so it is to help with the slosh of the vehicle going into motion. Maybe I misunderstood what I had read or asked, it doesn't affect me but I also have a sumped tank.

I also wasn't referring to the bap, I was just referring to what Matt@kb recommended with or without a bap on a stock tank when I spoke with him.

I'm just curious because I can tune my nitrous set-up safely on a dyno, but if under acceleration I can slosh fuel away from the pick-up and go lean... I need to be aware of this potential occurrence.
