Default Cobra Engine Swap

I was looking at the price of upgrading my rotating assembly so I can handle more boost. Still am, actually, but I'm told that this operation would cost at least $5000, not including any cam or head changes I'd want to make. The heads I'd want are the SHM stage II with the stage III (blower) cams. Well, just those parts are like $3600. Basically, I'm looking at $8600 to get my '98 engine the way I want it. So really, it's at the point where it almost makes sense to just swap out engines. It's gonna be a hell of a lot of money either way, but I can't afford to run more boost the way the engine is now, and I absolutely want to keep this car, so this is where I'm at. I guess what I'm asking is whether the '03-'04 Cobra engine can just be "dropped in" to a '98 chassis. I'm running a T-56 tranny, but it's been modified to match up to the '97 motor, so that shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for any input.

Default RE: Cobra Engine Swap

only thing i would notice as the swap would entail the returnless fuel system and the fact that you are goin to a coil pack to coil on wire type ignitions.....other than those two its pretty straight forward....take out....slap together...drop in...
