Default what car to buy

Looking at getting a new mustang but want one that will be faster than the new cars(mustang comaro charger). I want a car that is already moded so i dont have to spend the cash. I would love a 03-04 cobra but only have 20000 to spend and they are going for 25000 with low miles. How easy is a 99-03 saleen or roush 379hp car to get to make 450hp as i can get one for 14-18k. The new mustangs are 425hp i think so i need at least 450-500hpto make sure i can kick some a@@ would a pulley swap and a tune do it or would it need some major mods wich i dont want to spend the cash would also look at a older cobra with a blower 97-02 but are these motors as good as the 03-04 for high horsepower thanks

For the 99-04 Roush and Saleen all you would need is a few bolt ons with a smaller pulley and tune, and you'd be right there or better than a newer Mustang.

quite simply no. the 03/04 has forged internals and the 97-98 and 99/01 doesnt.

Those cars are nice but i am looking for cars that are more build. I would like the powertrain to be performance enhanced not just a car that has bolt ons. I dont know but maybe the saleens are just a bold on car and will loss there reliability if you add a 100hp. I would like a car built for 600-800hp but only making400-500rwhp so it is really reliable. Is a stock 4.6 bottom end and tranny very reliable for 500 hp. This car will be driven hard as i have a local drag strip 1h from home. My last car was a 89 fox with a 347 went 11.6na and mid 10s on the juice but it was a redneck streetcar( gutted, loud, no audio 4.30 with a 5 speed not a fun street car but fast) Im not 25y anymore and just want a nice fast street car that i can punish
