Default A/C question

Having gone through this summer with out A/C, I'm completely certain that deleting the system is not worth what little power you free up in the process.

Now I am not the one that deleted the system, that was the previous owner. That being the case I have none of the stock A/C. None. I believe they even pulled all the lines.

Here's my question: Can I use the complete system from the likes of a Mark VIII or NE Cobra? (These are all I've been able to come across) or do I need to use the 96-98 Cobra system only?

I think this depends largely on your skills and ability to improvise, adapt, and overcome.

I would be very surprised if the Mark VIII system would bolt right up, however Ford's AC systems are sufficiently alike that it could work. The biggest challenges are likely to be fitting the Mark VIII hoses and tubing, and the evaporator core.

The '03/'04 Cobra system should be a more straightforward install (hoses and tubing may have to be tweaked), obviously the earlier 4.6L Cobra systems should bolt right in...

I found a guy over on SVTP that has a complete A/C system for sale but its off an '01. And he also hasn't posted a price but simply wants me to make an offer. Honestly I don't even know what to offer? What sounds fair to you guys?

As you do not know its condition, and won't know its condition until you get it all installed, charged, and fired up, I would not pay more than $100...
