Default ebay resistor

I picked up a resistor on ebay for like two bucks that I guess can be put in somewhere on the intake....has anyone ever put one of these in? My buddy baught one and put it in his gf's civic and said it didnt do anything...I was just wondering if it was anything worth messing with. Thanks for the help.

A resistor? Are we talking about the type of resistor that would be put in electical circuits? Or some type of airflow restrictor?

I would love to hear the logic behind that one...

its an electrical resistor, not an air flow restrictor. There is a guy in my town that put one in his stang....he said it definately helped, and that it made the engine think that it was sucking in cold air all the time....I figured for a few bucks why not try it....I was just wondering if anyone had any useful input.

So where is it soldered to?

Is it inline with the connector returning from the mass airflow meter?

no soldering required, it plugs into the IAT (Intake Air temperature sensor) which sends a signal to the ECU I have been told.

quickshift, I noticed that you have an air intake and plenum as well as a shifter....any input you have on those as far as gains I'd be interested to hear because I am considering all three right now for the next mod....I was going to go with the CAI, but I have read in some places that with a basically stock motor, the heads flow good enough that a CAI doesnt really show any gains because from the factory it isnt restricted enough to make a difference.

It goes in your intake and "tricks" your car into dumping more fuel, but in reality it's a piece of crap and dangerous to have on your car....throw it out!
