2000 GT, 4.6 low RPM hesitation misfire skip PROBLEM SOLVED!
#33
Hi 110Leaded. I have a 2007 GT that seems to be doing the same thing.
[COLOR="Red"]"What I did to fix this was take a 12" zip tie(I think it was 12") and feed it between the 2 wires on the back of the connector that plugs onto the COP and loop it around the "ear" on the COP that sticks out and has the screw hole for mounting to the intake. They are not going anywhere now.
For whatever reason, only like 2 or 3 of my COP connectors had the tab intact that would keep them from backing off so I put a zip tie on each of them". Would you happen to have a pic or two that would show exactly where the "ear" is? I hope this trick helps my baby.

Same problem
I have the same type of problem. My 04 gt has a stumble every 3-4 secs at idle. Haven't really dug into it yet. But is that the same problem you have? Also if I rev the engine from idle to maybe 1300 rpm and hold it there the engine surges like a bad IAC and its opening and closing OR the fact of the slight miss is robbing power from the engine. But it feels smooth. I don't know haha

Iac
Well I've been reading everything on these forums... Last week I cleaned the iac and it ran AMAZING!!!! A few days later it started again so I cleaned it and it was better but not great like before so I wanted to just replace it... I replaced it and it does the same thing!! Wth is wrong and why would the stumbling at idle go away?!?! I'm gonna change the PCV valve and clean the throttle body. If that don't fix it I'm probably gonna just let it blow up F*** it!!

I was so excited to see this article and get home from work tonight to try this off as this zip tie trick seems like the only thing I have not done.
The car runs great on a cold start and acts up when it heats up. All under low RPM. If I keep over drive off or shift manually threw the gears (auto tranny) it will be somewhat better due to keeping the RPMS higher.
Replaced;
IAC
EGR
PCV
TPS
Cleaned MAF
Fuel pump
Fuel filter
Spark plugs
2 coils
Seafoamed in the gas tank and threw intake
Zip tied the coils
Coolant Temp Control Sensor
Cat Delete
Still nothing I have been trying to figure this out for months and it seems every time i look no one knows what is doing this? I thought this could have been it but still no where..

This is a pretty old thread that has covered a lot of ground from where it started. Posting for help in here probably won't get you the help you need. Things tend to get buried and go unnoticed in old threads that are multiple pages long. Granted, it is a bit slow in this section in general anymore, but you would have better chances if you started a new thread - detail your issue as best as you can, note any work recently done to the car, etc. If your check engine light is on or flashing, be sure to have the car checked with a scan tool and let us know what specific trouble code(s) are present. Help us help you.
