Default Removal of converters

I bought a 2000 mustang gt and it has four converters. I want to cut off two if not all four. If i cut two or all off will it cause problems like engine light on or make it run rough?

If you aren't sure what you have I would take it to a reputable performance shop. They will be able to tell you exactly what's been done to your car. Yes my (chk engine) light did come on but my tuner took care of it.

Thanks, i dnt mind the light as long as it doesnt affect anything else. Did you gain some power from the removal? Would a chip help at all if its been programmed?

If it is chipped, it'll be located in the cars computer. This can be found underneath the glove box up against the right hand side (passenger side). You'll have to remove that panel, then removed the computer itself to see if a chip was or has been inserted. Make sure you unplug the battery first before attempting this.

If there is a chip, pull it out. It wont matter. If its been programmed you'd have to pull codes. Like Soldier said best idea maybe would be taking it to a shop.

Yes the light will come on, but it will not effect how the car runs at all, the light will come on throwing a code for rear o2 sensors, which the only function of them is to check operations of the cats.
