Question How can I tell if I have had engine upgrades done?

So I ran an auto '05 GTO (rated at 400HP, 400TQ, 4400lbs) three times yesterday 10mph-100mph and got him by 3-4 car lengths each time. Looking at our weight to HP ratio (bc I'm ~1000lbs lighter and I'm assuming around 300HP at the flywheel with the mods listed in my sig) I thought it should have been a little closer. He did too, and we ended up pulling into a parking lot to see if I was packing a "quiet" S/C or Turbo because he didn't believe I could pull so hard, LOL. My question is, I keep finding mods to this car (aka my aluminum drive shaft & under pullies) since I bought it from a Ford dealer (it was his personal car). How can I tell if there has been engine work done? Looks like the PI intake is stock, and the mph/gear vs rpm shows I still have the 3.27 gears. Any other mods I should look for from the previous owner?

With your Mods I cant see you pulling a 400 HP GTO by 3-4 car lengths unless the person driving it is a real bad driver or that GTO was loosing some serious traction.

He's trying to play you, once money comes into play back off

hahahaha just kidding, I say just leave it as it is now and enjoy your power. No use in trying to take apart your engine.

I couldn't either, that's why I'm asking. It's an auto GTO, can a driver make that much difference when it's not even from a dig?

I'm not planning on tearing it apart, I'm just wondering if I needed to update my tune w/ another mod that I didn't know was there.

Its more than likley a fluke, that car from a roll with an auto should walk a bolt on GT. Anywork past what you can see on your vehicle (Cams, rotating assembly, etc) would of been mentioned where you bought the car and is easily noticed.

If the tune you have in it now is working that good, I don't think it needs any adjusting LOL

A lot of it could be the seat-steering-wheel interface.

I actually bought the car off ebay, and have been finding mods as I learn more and more about the car. The owner didn't list any mods when selling it, and I ended up with cobra-r rims, k&n intake, alum driveshaft, and UP on a 50k mi car for $7000.

I've heard the difference cams make in sound, and that's definitely not the case here. You can hear the engine sound from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Lr_J0s10Fw

this sounds about right to me. ive ran my car against my moms gto and i walk it hard each time. im supercharged tho but same concept. ive also taken her car to the track and its an auto as well. leaving the gto in drive and letting it shift itself ive ran a best of 13.6 in her car.

Thats not really a good comparision, you have about 120rwhp over the OP's N/A mustang.
