Hey all!, I am installing BBK shorty headers on my 04 GT, 4.6. I am removing the studs which hold the exaust manifold on the right side so I will have clearance to slide the header in, engine is already jacked up. The studs fit a 5mm socket to remove them. I was disstressed to discover that 3 of these studs are rounded off where the socket fits. I am stumped on how to remove them, the header will not fit until the studs are removed. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Harbor freight sells (or used to) a stud removal tool set for pretty cheap. works pretty well. Failing that, maybe hit up sears..

Forget buying special tools its actually quite simple, break the nut loose, then thread a second nut onto the stud, use a wrench and turn the inner stud and it will pull it right out.

or you could just use the original stud. on my LT install, i kept several of the stock studs in there. unless its one that wont fit, of course
