Transmission clacking sound
Hi! I'm new to this forum...and mustangs haha. So here it is, I'm hearing what sounds like a claking noise coming from the transmission it sounds like. I hear the noise when I first accelerate from a stop, I start releasing the clutch and...Clak! (not a constant grinding noise, but a single "Clak") But once the clutch is fully released and start accelerating steady it's fine. This is also how it is in every gear, as soon as I let out the clutch and it starts to grab...Clak! I thought it might have been worn out driveshaft u-joints but those seem to be tight. I looked underneath and the u-joints seemed tight and the driveshaft didn't twist any. The differential area was tight to it seemed. But i can move the driveshaft and trans up and down it looks like the input shaft is moving along with these two bolts that attach the trans mount maybe? Also I know that my throwout bearing is bad (everytime the clutch is out it squeals until I press it in) so maybe that has something to do with it? Long post I know lol. Any advice is appreciated

I agree with Uber on this one.
have you tried putting rear up in the air and spinning wheels to see if you hear noise.
Id start it up and have Vid cam look at drive train movement while its in gear .
You can also have a willing buddy lay on side of car watching movement and where noise is coming from.
BTW...Make sure you chock front wheels good, dont want to run over your vid cam or buddies foot.LOL
Good Luck and welcome to forum
