Default Custom Side Exhaust

Im looking into building a custom side exhaust for my gt for not a lot of $$$$, but I am not sure what the best way to undertake this task would be. I already have a magnoflow catback and a Catted X-pipe installed. My questions are: What are some of the advatages/ disadvatages of a side exhaust system? What kind of a mess would I be getting myself into (difficulty on a scale of 1 - 10)? What would I need to do mount the system to the car?

Any and all advice into what the best pieces to use will be greaty appreciated as well

I have the roush kit on my car and the only way to run side exhaust is to have the inlet and the out of the muffler on the same side. You can buy that type of muffler from summit but you will have to have an exhaust shop fabricate the hangars and bend some pipes over to the side of the car for you. It's nothing you can do at home on your garage floor and to be honest side exhaust just doesnt look good (IMO) unless you have the ground effects to go with it.

There are two ways to go about doing it.

Same side inlet/outlet mufflers (Spin Tech, Magnaflow or Borla would be my suggestions - in that order). Stage 3 Motorsports sells a side exit kit using Spin Tech 333SCS for a fairly good price. Great sound, good tq. I run them on my 2000.

OR

Some have gone to narrower mufflers (like MagnaPak) and had them mounted right after the mid pipe tucked very flush to the bottom of the car. Then just 90 degree the pipe out the side of the car.
